“This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons”

Tonight I got home from a movie (Everything’s Gone Green – good movie) and headed to the iTunes Store to listen to some previews from the soundtrack. I was greeted by this message:

Sharpmusique iTunes account error

I suspect this is because I have used SharpMusique, an unauthorized Linux-based client for the iTunes Store (that lets you pay for music). That said, my account has been disabled from logging in from the official iTunes client as well (screenshot).

  1. That just sucks … does this mean you’ll not be able to authorize your songs on any future computer? Seems like a real pitfall of DRM.

  2. Well, people have jumped to conclusions about stuff like this before and been wrong. Who knows.

You might want to read up on the use of the apostrophe, tho.

  3. ^^ There’s a reason nobody likes her.

Are you planning to appeal or contact the company? Might be able to resolve something, you never know.
