Career Advice for Michael Vick

I think I’ve come up with the perfect solution for Michael Vick’s career. Vick should join the WWE under the name The Rottweiler.

The public outrage that would ensue would only fuel his infamy as a bad-ass wrestler.

Food for thought.

Solitaire: The End of Desktop Applications

The web-based version of Solitaire at WorldOfSolitaire.com is as smooth and playable as the version included in Windows or Gnome by default. This is the end of desktop software – Solitaire was the final frontier.

Note that it is not built with Flash, but Javascript, CSS, HTML, via YUI.

“Learn from the fall of Rome, US warned”, and by the comptroller general of the US, no less.

Around the Restaurant

My friend Jakub was out for diner during GUADEC (a Gnome conference) and took a great video with his digital camera. They were apparently at a restaurant with a conveyor-belt that runs by the table and through the kitchen. He sent his camera on a little trip:

Clever.

“This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons”

Tonight I got home from a movie (Everything’s Gone Green – good movie) and headed to the iTunes Store to listen to some previews from the soundtrack. I was greeted by this message:

Sharpmusique iTunes account error

I suspect this is because I have used SharpMusique, an unauthorized Linux-based client for the iTunes Store (that lets you pay for music). That said, my account has been disabled from logging in from the official iTunes client as well (screenshot).

Looking for Another Slice

We’re looking for a new designer to join our team over at silverorange. We aren’t necessarily looking for someone with years of experience and an enormous portfolio. If you’ve got the spark and are able to learn as you go (and can work in Charlottetown, PEI), let us know. Be sure to read the full job description and instructions before contacting us.

White Stripes Rock the Harbour

The White Stripes just played a world-class rock and roll show here in Charlottetown. A bit earlier in the evening, they played a surprise set on a boat in the harbour (YouTube video).

They easily have the best dressed roadies in the business.

Buying Happiness – My New Guitar

Taylor GS5 close-up - from Taylor.comMostly so I can have an excuse to tell people about what a beautiful guitar I have, I’ve written a review of my new Taylor GS5 acoustic guitar over at the silverorange stuff site.

This is the closest I’ve come to actually being able to buy happiness.
