Another excellent session Steven. I was surprised to hear Matt Mays be played on the radio out here in Alberta so often since the beginning of the new year. Makes me feel a little closer to home every time I hear Cocaine Cowgirl.

Steven - would you like access to a BitTorrent tracker for these shows? They're quite large and must eat quite a bit of bandwidth. I have a tracker that you can use if you're interested - drop me an email if you like (my first name @ mydomain).

Some great stuff I hadn't heard before. The first two songs blew me away before you slipped into some songs I'm more familiar with. Great choice to finish with.

I am really digging the new Matt Mays album as well. He is the only bright light in the otherwise horrifically execrable lineup for the Festival of Lights in Charlottetown, and his show is FREE. I also like the Stars. I heard them on KCRW with Nic Harcourt and apparently the chap who says "When there's nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire" is the father of one of the band members and an accomplished stage actor. Sadly, a session full of promise crashes with yet another toxic does of Extreme. Why man, why?

Wow - thanks Steve - I had forgotten about Extreme & Tragic Comic. My favorite song from that album, which was my brothers CD one of his first CD's bought.

After listening to the session I went out and bought Matt Mays and El Torpedo and Stars "Set Yourself on Fire." Why do Stars remind me of Joy Electric? I'm completely hooked on the album and was thrilled that Your 'Ex-Lover is Dead' isn't even close to being the best song on the album. Listen to 'He Lied About Death' on headphones with the volume cranked up. It'll blow your mind.

Steven, just a side-note to say that unless the bandwidth bill hurts your wallet, I'd appreciate it if you could skip Bittorrent-involving solutions.

For us 56k users it makes the downloading process almost unbearable; I understand the need to upload too --that's what BT is all about--, but when I have 5kb/s available, and the minimum I can assign to uploads is 3kb/s, I'm left with downloading your show at a whooping 2kb/s.

I second providing a BT link, at least as an option. As someone who has broadband access, it's a little disconcerting to get download speeds of <5 KB/s for a multimedia file. I can only imagine what your server and bandwidth are going through. A straight MP3 link should always be provided, for users who don't understand BitTorrent, or for whom it's not a good option. But providing an optional BT link would not only relieve server load but be of great benefit to many users (and as long as one could choose a direct download as well, only the users who would benefit would need to use it).

Extreme IS good!
