October 10

We are back. We go into the studio to record Crazed Love next week. If things work out, we will put the song up on the website in mp3 format. We will be playing at the Underground (aka mike's) on Tuesday, October 20th. 2 brand new songs.

September 10

School has started and Ffoeg is gone but all is well. We wont be playing any shows for at least a month. New songs are coming along nicely. We are thinking of heading in to the studio soon to record a single. If it goes well, it will be the first song of the new album. We'll let you know.

August 21

We are still in hiding. New songs are starting to grow and we are well on our way to convincing ourselves once again that we deserve rock stardom. We will emerge from hiding sometime this fall, a butterfly, no doubt. Horton's Choice thrives in the cold of the fall and winter.

August 5

We've pulled out of the public eye (i.e. we are not playing at Mike's) for a month or so. We are working on new material. So far one new original song has bubbled to the surface. While it is still in the larva stage, it looks as though it will showcase Horton's Choice in all of our noise-pop splendor. We are also busy nursing our broken rock-star egos (see the ffoeg chronicles for more info).

July 28

Rough night last night. We're gonna hide away for a while and work on some new material. We have also added a new feature to the website. Ffoeg's reviews and commentaries have now been granted their own section: the ffoeg chronicles.

July 16

See dates below. August dates coming soon. Foegg returns with another coveted guest opion. This time, it's a review of last nights show.

July 9

Our alleged dates for July: We will be at Mike's on Queen St. with Wired on Wednesday the 22, with Laud on Friday the 24, a benefit for the Children's Wish Foundation Saturday the 25, and with Origin on Monday the 27. Don't vote.

June 28

We got triple-booked at Mike's this weekend. Needless to say, the odds prevailed and we did not play. We'll be there, our favorite place... a few times in July. As promised, here is ffoeg's guest opinion of the great BridgeFest fiasco of '98. Video of the disaster is on it's way.

June 20

Some dates got screwed up, but we will be at Mike's on June 27th (with a new cool band we have never heard). Apparently some poor suckers called the 'Fashion Assasins' had the misfortune of playing at PEI's own ill-fated Bridgefest98. We'll have an eye witness account coming up in a few days on this site. A video clip of a sassy drummer is also in the works. Some new songs are on the way.

May 13

New dates added at Mike's Bar. Now we play May 15, 19, 23 and June 27. Come see us. We will, we will, rock you. Check out our friends wacky website of mysterious madness: Unline.

May 10

Dan and Julie are back from the west. Despite a peculiar equine odour, they had a great trip. This Friday (May 15th) at Mike's Bar (Queen St., next to The Bookmark) at about 10:00 Old Field White Spruce will be opening for us in what could possibly be their last show. Come see them. Come see us. We'll be back at Mike's on May 23rd with thEWOKS (note to The Buzz: it's "thEWOKS", the "The Woks")

Apr 10

Sorry for the slow updates. We've been very busy (school, work, rocking, etc.). We will be playing at Mike's Bar on Queen St. in Charlottetown on May 15th with our friends Old Field White Spruce and we'll be back again on the 23rd. We have some great new songs which we are really excited about. Latest off the line are The Cave and An Open Letter to God. Check 'em out on the lyrics page. 2/3 of us (Dan and Julie) will be heading out west to B.C. for some mountaing leaping after exams. Come see us as Mike's. Possibilities of recording a full length CD this year are stirring...

Feb 21

Wednesday the 25th at Queen Charlotte we play. I don't know exactly what it is, but go. We are doing an Intimate & Interactice lab rat show on Friday afternoon for the Advanced Visual Communications class at Charlottetown Rural. When the school board gets word of all this, things are gonna happen... Thanks for coming to the show last week. It was fun. We also did an impromptu (sp?) performance at the Barn at UPEI a few weeks ago. Fun as well.

Jan 12

You have waited long enough. You want your Horton's Choice and you want it LIVE! Yeah, yeah, ok. We'll be at the Atrs Guild on Friday the 13th (ooohhh) in February at 7pm. We are playing with Dressed to Kill, Monolith, and Old Field White Spruce. How good is that? On a related note: the end of the world is coming Feb 14th.

Jan 1

We have staked (stook? staken? stoken?) our claim on 1998. This is the year of Spacepop. Check out the BuzzOn. The press is starting to wise up to us. The Buzz has featured us on the Bandwagon and in the PEI Music section. Thanks folks. Merry 1998 everyone.

Dec 31

Hey laypeople. What are you doing on Friday, February 13th? Nothing? See you at the Arts Guild. It'll be $5 and it will feature us, Monolith (sp?), Old Field White Spruce, and Dressed to Kill. We are all extremely gifted artists. More info on the way.
Good Christmas? Yeah, me too. Spacepop is selling well. We are well on our way to paying off the duplicator. Happy new year.

Dec 4

Check us out in the Cadre (UPEI's brilliant student newspaper) this week (thanks to karen rawlines). Check out this illegible copy of the ad. Wanna win the contest? Check out the news for Dec 1 below. Since only two people can win, you had better buy Spacepop. Look out for a show at the end of December.

Dec 1

The Goose is getting fat. Better buy Spacepop for everyone you know. Look for HC in upcoming issues of UPEI's The Cadre and The Buzz. Play safe, visit UAT.

Nov 17

It's true. Horton's Choice's first recording is now available. Spacepop is a four and a half song EP of pure, unadulterated (sp?) poppunkmusicofthefuture. If's been a long time coming and with only a day to go until the Postal strike, it came (Editors Note: We support the Canadian labour force). It's five bucks. Buy it.
Rumors of a HC move to Calgary or not true. We almost went but we love our fair isle too much. The Headstones, Gandharvas show rocked. Next up: We go learn from the best at the Our Lady Peace / Everclear show in Halifax. See you there.

Nov 3

We did it. The weekend is over. Last friday night, we bombed at the Battle of the Bands and lost to a worthy opponent, Old Field White Spruce. A mere 18 hours later we played main stage at Sydney's GobbleFest. The GobbleFest was great. People seemed to like us despite an apparent mass thirst for death metal. Now, we will sleep ('cept for the Headstones, Gandharvas, Nixons concert tonight). Uhh.
The EPs should be in this week, keep your pants on.

Oct 29th

Daylight Savings time has come and gone (or gone and come, whatever it is) and we have been on time just about everyday so far. Our friend (and manager) Vapid's website has created quite a stir lately. This is mostly due to the timely and hard-hitting subject matter it concerns itself with. Please, please take the time to visit UAT.
Our EP was temporarily delayed to a tragic ZIP code error (on the other end). It has arrived at it's destination and we are hoping to have the tapes for the GobbleFest. Bring it on.

Oct 20th

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble. Tar ponds here we come! Hot off the press: Horton's Choice will be playing Sydney, Cape Breton's GobbleFest! Saturday Nov 1st, Downtown Sydney will be taken over by 20+ bands including Elavator To Hell and of course Horton's Choice. We play on the Main Stage at 4:20 at St. Andrew's Hall. Be there (you'll love Sydney).

Oct 15th

Things are good. We recorded for the first time this month. A sparkling EP with a title so clever we can't even tell you. The EP will be released this month and will cost $5 (cdn). Please buy it.
The Hocus Pick Concert is a no go due to financial reasons. Sorry guys. Same with GobbleFest. We do however play on Oct 31st at the Civic Centre Battle of the Bands.
