I have to say this "I Hate Everyone At Mike's"

Well folks, tonight was "a tough gig", the band picked me up at 9:00pm and we made our way to the venue of all venues...Mike's!!

They began setting up, and we noticed that their was actually quite a crowd for a monday night. Of course they were all locals, who live there, but none the less, quite a few people. As the band performed their mike check, they were heckled by one of our favorite drunks, who was yelling "what the hell are you checking?". It is always the same guy saying the same thing...sir if you are reading this and i know you aren't...please... no more!!!!

Finally the band began their set, which started out sounding really well...until "Jonny Soundman" decided he would fix things up...immediately after he "fixed things" we could hear no vocals. so Horton's Choice, played through the rest of the song quite well with what they had to work with. From that point on, things sounded less than good...at one point there were three people (who have no idea how to work a sound system) attempting to work a sound system. needless to say, their were more songs which quickly turned into instrumentals...like "Ruby Soho". However, there was one person there who knew how to operate the system, unfortunately he was the bands exciting drummer, we know as Danya...and between songs he would, make things sound better only to have "Jonny" set them right back to the way they were because, as he put it..."if you do that you will blow the speakers". thanks "Jonny". Julie summed it up best by saying "a classic case of Jonny bartender pretending to be Jonny Soundman"

So there were some good areas, like when they played their way through the Bad Religion cover "21st Century Digital Boy", it is really coming along, and Mikes is the perfect place to practise. Also "Cave" and "Brown eyed Girl" sounded great! They finished up with a fine version of "An Open Letter To God". We quickly loaded up the car, and thought the evening was over, but at Mike's the night is never over when you think it is, while getting into the van, two people getting into the car next to us said(this is a quote)"We are drunk and we are driving home, are you going to call the cops again?? JERRY has a scanner and we heard the whole thing..."Sorry guys, that we didn't let you PAL drive home drunk...maybe next time...

Sorry about this one folks, but tonight was just one of those nights and hopefully this is the last one of those night's...I will do better next time...HONEST!(I think)(I hope)(I have no idea)(What the hell am I talking about??) THE END?
